XenoVida uses a series of well-recognised questionnaires which allow us to understand more about you.
The questionnaire results, when combined with the other measurements of your body and your biomarker data, enables us to advise you on the areas of health, lifestyle and behaviour which would be most beneficial for you to focus your efforts. Crucially we can advise you on ways to make changes which are realistic for you.
Before you attend your Measures Appointment, we will ask you to complete these questionnaires via your online client account.
The extensive health assessment that underpins your XenoVida Profile requires that we take some measurements and a blood sample from you. We also enjoy meeting our clients in person, and we like to give you the opportunity to tell us about yourself and to ask any questions about the profiling process.
Once you have signed up as a client, you can book a convenient appointment, either at one of our clinics or, if using the We Come to You service, at your home, office or other suitable location. All appointments are held in the morning in order to provide the most accurate blood biochemistry data, and you will be asked not to eat or drink (except water) for 12 hours beforehand.
Your Measures Appointment will take approximately 40 minutes. This will cover:
Your body composition - proportion of fat, muscle and other tissues - is measured using our Body Analyser. This is a simple and non-invasive process, in which you stand on a small platform (similar to bathroom scales) and hold a sensor in each of your hands. A small multi-frequency electrical current is passed between these sensors which gives us information on the proportion and distribution of tissue in your body. This process takes 20 seconds and is entirely harmless (N.B. not suitable for those with an electrical implant such as a pacemaker).
One of our registered phlebotomists will collect a blood sample using a needle into your arm vein. The blood is sent to our partner laboratory to be analysed for routine biomarkers of lipids, glycaemic control and insulin resistance, in accordance with standard clinical practice. We also include other biomarkers of inflammation, appetite control and sex hormones, in order to complete your biochemical profile.

We carefully present the results from your questionnaires, measures appointment and the results of your blood test - topic by topic - with clear explanation of what the data means for you. We show you where your results fits on a health scale, and describe the conclusions drawn from each section to make it meaningful for you.
We want you to benefit from the information we provide on your health. We consider each of our clients individually, thinking about key health issues, lifestyle, behaviours and your ambition, in order to create a set of realistic and focussed advice, tailored to you.
As a client you will have access to a private online account. Through this portal you will be able to complete the set of questionnaires and, after profiling in your measures session, you will be able to access your XenoVida reports (as downloadable pdf files).
From your online account you will be able to send messages or queries to the XenoVida team, and receive feedback.
Within your account we provide you with additional reading material, if you wish to learn more about the roles of nutrition and lifestyle in health, and the science behind it.
You will also find details of (and be able to enrol on) our optional Health and Wellbeing Support Programmes and our full XenoVida Re-Profiling service should this be of interest to you.
XenoVida offers Health and Wellbeing Programmes to help you make changes and achieve your goals through tailored support and progress assessments.
We offer 3 Health & Wellbeing Support Programmes (ESSENTIAL, ESSENTIAL+ and COMPLETE). We will discuss this with you in your "Next Steps Planning" session, after you have received your Health Status Report. These programmes are only offered if we believe our clients would benefit, and they are all optional.
